I was seventeen and visiting my mom and sister in Tennessee for the summer, Lisa had been there with Nellie for a few months, she was going out to a party one night and invited me, which actually made me feel quite honored that she'd want to hang out with me. I don't remember all the particulars, but it was the first party I'd been to, where I did actually drink, and being with her that night kind of cracked my shell. She watched out for me all night, and made sure that I was always in the mix with everyone and that I was never not having a good time. I met the two loves of my life that night, a guy named Rob, and another named Thomas, which I only remember because my favorite singer at the time was Rob Thomas from Matchbox Twenty. Even in the morning when we headed back home, she still treated me like I was one of her friends and not just "Nell's little sister." I am eternally grateful for that memory with her.
